Established expertise and experience since 1961.
Founded in 1961, the mineral grinding plant in Hamm specializes primarily in processing refractory minerals. 120,000 tons of raw and recycled materials are processed per year on three crushers and seven grinding and screening units The processed minerals are used in the steel industry, in foundries, in the construction and leather industry and biogas plants. Other low-sulfur minerals are ground for welding.
The mineral grinding plant in Hamm today employs 60 people who produce 120,000 tons per year in three shifts on three crushers and seven processing units. All processing units are equipped with dryers, modern screening machines and ball mills. In addition, a mixing unit is available for the production of MgO wear compounds for the steel industry. Up to 30,000 tons per year are filled into paper and film sacks on a fully automatic filling and palletizing line. MMW has a total operating area of 70,000m², of which 50,000m² is used for the storage of minerals, while 20,000m² of the storage areas for raw and finished goods are covered over.
Thanks to our location in the port of Hamm – Europe’s busiest pure canal port – we have very good logistical links to the key European overseas ports of Rotterdam, Antwerp, Amsterdam and Hamburg: raw materials from all over the world reach us from there via the waterway network, the Rhine, the Wesel-Datteln Canal and the Datteln-Hamm Canal. Our mineral grinding plant in Hamm is conveniently located on the main traffic arteries A1 and A2 for optimum connections in all four directions.
Our products are used in a wide range of industries.
Many of the refractory materials we process are used in the steel industry. But our refractory or extremely heat-resistant raw materials are also used in foundries, the construction and leather industries, biogas plants and in the production of foundry supplies. These properties also come into play in furnace construction.
Subsidiaries, partner companies and contacts on almost every continent are key pillars in terms of both our business operations and our cultural exchange. But our headquarters are still located in one of German’s historically most important centers of business and commerce: the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.
