Mareike Zimmer Heads People & Culture at Possehl Erzkontor
1. June 2022

Lübeck, June 2022. As of June 1, 2022, the management team of Possehl Erzkontor will get a reinforcement: Mareike Zimmer will take over the management of the People & Culture department from Nicole Uellendahl, who recently left the company. With Mareike Zimmer, the management team of this Lübeck-based end-to-end service provider for raw materials is once again complete and ideally positioned for the upcoming challenges in the field of human resources – transformation, growth, employer branding.

“Our transformation process, which we initiated two years ago with our Road#2024PLUS strategy, requires a lot from our HR managers,” says Nils Fleig, Chief Financial Officer and HR Manager at Possehl Erzkontor. “Based on Mareike’s diverse experience and expertise in change, international HR development/leadership, talent management and employer branding, I have no doubt that we’ll master the challenges in the area of People & Culture.”

In the nineties Mareike studied International Business Administration at the Euro-Business College in Hamburg, and from 2008 to 2009 Business Management at the University of Sunderland (UK). From 2017 to 2020 she did a Master’s degree in Systemic Consulting at Kaiserslautern Technical University. In her previous position as Team Lead HR Projects & People Development at HPM Die Handwerksgruppe in Hamburg, she was responsible for the conception and implementation of leadership development programs, the strategic orientation of training, and the establishment and expansion of cross-divisional HR development. Prior to that, Mareike held various national and international positions at Philips, Dräger, and Messe und Congress Hamburg. Mareike is a certified business coach and lecturer for change management and human resources at the Euro FH Hamburg.

“The fascination for change and development – of both organizations and people – has shaped my own career path and continues to drive me every day,” she says about herself. “Helping to shape people and cultural development at Possehl Erzkontor, a company that has set out to explore, understand and make use of new things, as well as to make an active contribution to the sustainable further development of its industry, is a multifaceted and insanely exciting task that I am very much looking forward to.”
